The Origin Story
Looking for quality
Diva was formed in 2013 by Laurent Noyer and Pierre Beuchet. They launched a small business to start selling high-quality wines and spirits that wouldn’t otherwise have been available to the public. While looking for a selection of artisanal fruit crèmes to complement their wine list, they found the Domaine de Sathenay, and ended up taking it over themselves to start creating their own luxury crème liqueurs.
A crème de cassis from Burgundy
Laurent and Pierre are located in Beaune, in the heart of Burgundy. They wanted an authentic Burgundy crème de cassis, so quickly began making their own. Using their own recipes and branding ideas, along with the original producer’s technical knowhow and top of the range equipment, they created their first crème liqueur – a rich, sweet, deeply fruity blackcurrant cream.
Branching out into different flavours
Their crème de cassis was an instant hit, having great success not only on the French market but also abroad. Japanese bartenders in particular fell in love with its intense fruitiness. Other flavours swiftly followed: blackberry, raspberry, and a rustic vineyard peach cream liqueur. Laurent and Pierre also started playing with seasonal editions, creating a fragrant elderflower cream with sweet, white, floral notes that soon made it the darling of local mixologists.

Centuries of production
Crème de cassis has been produced in Burgundy for hundreds of years, originally as ratafia de cassis, and more recently as the modern cream. The blackcurrant shrubs of Beaune are renowned for their exquisite flavour, and crème liqueurs have long been a staple of French culture. Sathenay’s deluxe, stylish, artisanal crèmes are the modern culmination of centuries of knowledge and refinement.
