Flavour Intensity
Alsace, France
The region of Alsace is situated in north-eastern France on the Rhine River plain. It borders both Germany and Switzerland and has alternated between German and French control throughout its history. Today, this cultural mix is apparent - beautiful timber-framed German-style houses line the streets and rub up against typical French-style churches.
French Elegance
“Elegance” is the word most often used to describe Rendez-Vous whisky. Having perfected their eau-de-vie techniques over the past century, Lehmann turned their sights to whiskies in the early 2000s. Using the same Charentes-style copper still that they use for their brandies, Lehmann's distilling expertise is apparent in this luxury spirit. Each bottle is sealed with a label coated in genuine gold, representing their dedication to premium quality products.
Smoke on the Rhine River
Rendez-Vous’s smoky character comes from the burned peat used during the malting process. This process delicately infuses the barley with gloriously aromatic smoke. Before being bottled, the blend is aged for 5 years in white wines casks, previously used to age white wines in Bordeaux, France. The end result is an exquisite, stylish, and perfectly balanced single malt whisky.
The Brains Behind It
Yves Lehmann
The Lehmann distillery is a family business. It is the oldest and most prestigious eau-de-vie distillery in the region and was originally founded in 1850 by Yves’s great-great-grandfather. The distillery has been passed down from father to son for 5 generations and is currently owned by Yves Lehmann. Today he produces a variety of spirits, including a line of whiskies that he first introduced in 2000.
